Stage 3: Earn
Test commitment, price, and channel. Earn real commitment before building anything heavy.
The promise of this stage
By the end of Stage 3, you will have an offer that earns commitment, a price range people accept, and a channel that reaches buyers predictably. If you cannot get commitment, almost nothing else matters.
You now have a real problem and a clear gap. Stage 3 is where you earn proof that people will commit to your offer, at a price, through a real channel. Interest is cheap. Commitment changes the game.
What You Will Build
Offer Test Result
Commitment log and outcomes
Price Range Test
Ladder with buyer reactions
Channel Hypothesis
Tested paths with early signal
These are the proof points that justify moving into Stage 4.
The Three Modules
Each module builds evidence for the next. If Module 1 is weak, pricing is fiction. If Module 2 is unclear, channels are noise. Do them in order.
Stage Rules
Keep it honest
- Commitment beats compliments. Time or money is the signal.
- Price is a test, not a guess.
- Channels must reach buyers, not just traffic.
- If the commitment is weak, fix the offer before you build.
Speed matters here, but evidence matters more. Earn the signal.
Quick Reference
1. A buyer commits time or money
2. A price range survives a real test
3. A channel produces qualified conversations
No signals? Pause and fix the gap.
1. One offer test within two weeks
2. One price ladder test with real reactions
3. One channel sprint with clear pass signals
Earn commitment, not a perfect deck.
Common traps
- Treating "likes" as demand
- Discounting before testing real willingness to pay
- Blaming the channel instead of fixing the offer
- Pitching to friends instead of buyers
- Chasing every channel at once
What to ignore for now
Building the full product, over-optimizing pricing models, scaling paid acquisition, hiring a sales team. Those depend on commitment you have not earned yet.
What Success Feels Like
By the end of this stage, you should be able to say:
"This offer earns commitment"
"This price works"
"This channel reaches buyers"
Stage 3 is your gate. It protects you from building a product no one buys.
Commitment first, always.
